Here’s everything you need to know about the Fortnite new years event to end 2020 and celebrate 2021.
Epic Games released the Fortnite Christmas event, Operation Snowdown, two weeks ago. Players have been able to get two free Fortnite skins, Snowmando and Frost Squad, as well as a handful of other cosmetics including back blings, loading screens, wraps, gliders, pickaxes and more.
The rewards for the Christmas events towards the new year are always themed for the new year. Yesterday, players could unlock the confetti new years-themed wrap by stoking a campfire two times.

Although there aren’t any new challenges for the Fortnite new years, Epic Games always add in a small Fortnite event to celebrate the new year. It’s pretty much identical each year with the obvious change to the year that’s displayed at the end. Here’s everything you need to know about the Fortnite new years event for the end of 2020.
Fortnite New Years Event 2021 Time
If you’re wondering when the Fortnite new years event is, it happens every hour leading up to 2021. When it’s a new hour, the Fortnite new years event for 2021 will begin. You’ll see a disco ball emerge from the sky, a bunch of fireworks will go off, and you’ll be forced to dance.
new years Fortnite 2020 2021
It does get quite frustrating when you’re in the middle of a battle, but you’re forced to dance for 10 seconds or more while the Fortnite new years event happens. You won’t be able to use your weapons or pickaxe during the event. There is a countdown in the sky before it takes place along with a sound queue, so hopefully it’ll give you enough warning you’re about to dance your way into the new year.
Here’s some images of the Fortnite new years event for 2021:

Yesterday was the release of the final Fortnite Operation Snowdown challenge. The Christmas event this year has provided two free skins and a host of other cosmetics including the Confetti Wrap that was available yesterday once players completed the ‘stoke a campfire’ challenge.
The challenges also provided players with 10,000 XP, providing players with another way to level up as quickly as possible this season. There’s no XP coins this season, so any additional XP will help players in the long run.

The normal weekly challenges provide players with 20,000 XP and today is the release of the week 5 Fortnite challenges. As usual, we’ll have seven new challenges to complete and thanks to data-miners, we know what all of the challenges are ahead of time. Find the buried blue coin in Retail Row Fortnite
Epic Games have found their creative hat when it comes to the week 5 challenges. We’re usually tasked with the same old rehashed, mundane challenges. However, there’s a number of challenges this week that are different to what we’ve seen in the past, or at the very least it hasn’t been used numerous times to the point where I remember a challenge similar to this one.
As provided by the challenge name, players can find the buried blue coin in Retail Row. Thankfully, there’s not too much guess work when it comes to finding the Fortnite buried blue coin in Retail Row thanks to the mud pile that indicates where the buried blue coin is located.
You can find the buried blue coin in Retail Row on the west side of the popular named location. You’ll find the Fortnite buried blue coin on the west side of the yellow house near the basketball hoop. Here’s the exact location where you’ll find it. NOTE: There’s three dig spots in Retail Row, so this could be the wrong location, we’ll update this as soon as the challenge is available.

Here’s how and where to find and collect gnomes from Fort Crumpet and Holly Hedges.
We’re already into the fifth week of Fortnite chapter 2 season 5, which is expected to end in the middle of March. We’ve been kept busy with the Operation Snowdown challenges for the past two weeks in order to get the free Snowmando and Frost Squad skins along with other cosmetics including pickaxes, gliders, wraps and more.
Each challenge from Operation Snowdown provides players with 10,000 XP, but yesterday was the final challenge that will be releasing for the Christmas event. However, we have a brand new set of weekly challenges today.
Three of the challenges this week require players to collect, bury, and dig up gnomes at different locations around the map. One of the challenges requires players to collect gnomes from Fort Crumpet and Holly Hedges.
Here’s all the Fortnite locations where you can find and collection gnomes from Fort Crumpet and Holly Hedges.
Collect Gnomes from Fort Crumpet Fortnite Locations
If I remember correctly, there was a challenge in season 4 that required players to collect or find gnomes at Fort Crumpet. It seems like the gnome locations in Fort Crumpet are the same from last season.
For those of you that don’t know where Fort Crumpet is on the map, here’s the location:
Here’s all the locations where you should be able to find and collect gnomes in Fort Crumpet:
Gnome #1
On the north-east side in the shop, you’ll find a gnome to collect behind the cash register. Here’s the map location:
Gnome #2
In the middle of Fort Crumpet, you’ll find another gnome to collect under the stairs on the ground floor. This gnome will be holding a lantern. Here’s the map location:
We’ll update this with the other locations when the challenge is released and we look around Fort Crumpet.
Collect Gnomes from Holly Hedges Fortnite Locations
The first gnome you can find and collect in Holly Hedges is in the garden section where you found sapling groot last season. The gnome should be between three plants. Here’s the map location:
From the location above, head north. You’ll find a gnome near the Christmas tree in the corner as shown below.
